Bobbie J. (Rawls) Hansen, 82, Springfield, MO, died peacefully on November 14, 2014 with her son Robert Biff by her side.  She was born on July 17, 1932 to Robert M. and Henrietta Rawls in Springfield, MO.

Bobbie attended Greenwood Elementary School and graduated from St. Agnes High School, Springfield, MO in 1950.  She graduated from Phillips University, Enid, OK in 1954, with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Economics.  She later obtained her Master of Science in Reading from Southwest Missouri State University.  Bobbie taught Journalism at Kickapoo and then Glendale High Schools beginning in 1971 until her retirement 20 years later.

While attending Phillips University, she met the love of her life, William “Bill” Hansen, whom she married in 1953.  Two sons were born to this marriage: Robert Biff and Mark Bernard, both of whom Bobbie dearly loved.

She attended South Street Christian Church as a child.  She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Springfield, MO, for many years, a charter member of Fishers of Men Lutheran Church, Pt. Isabel, TX, and most recently a member of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, Kimberling City, MO.

Bobbie loved to read, enjoyed all needle arts and was an accomplished seamstress.  She enjoyed water sports and anywhere at the lake or beach, especially being at their sea cottage in Port Isabel, TX, during the winter months for over 23 years.  Her trips to Alaska and Scandinavia (Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Russia, and Estonia) were cherished memories shared with Bill.

Bobbie is survived by her husband William “Bill” Hansen and two sons, Robert Biff (wife, Susan) and Mark Hansen.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Henrietta Rawls, a sister, Julia Harvey, and two infant twin daughters.
