Lester W. Haas, 82 of Kimberling City, MO died on Monday, January 16, 2012.
He was born June 15, 1929, in Belleville, IL, the son of Lester and Viola (nee Loercher) Haas.
Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Haas; four daughters, Leslie D. Bouris of Peoria, Ill., Laurie E. Haas of Pekin, Ill., Valerie M. Dobbs of Kimberling City, and Vickie A. Balder of Fort Worth, Texas; one sister, Delores Sharp of Phoenix, Ariz.; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and many other relatives and friends.
Lester was a Kimberling City resident for the last 16 years, after relocating from Pekin, Ill. Both Lester and Phyllis Haas moved to Kimberling City after Lester retired as a lineman for the Central Illinois Light Company.
Visitation will be from 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm, Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at Stumpff Funeral Home-South in Kimberling City.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 19, at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Kimberling City, with Richard Futrell, pastor, officiating, followed by a luncheon for family and close friends.
A short, burial commital service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 21, in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin. After graveside services, there will be a gathering at Eighth Street Station, 1440 N. Eighth St., Pekin.
