Roger L. Getz’s funeral and memorial service will be held on Friday, January 15, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Kimberling City, MO.
Roger, of Branson West, MO, was born October 2, 1949, the son of Gerald and Della (nee Bailey) Getz. Though born in Bonne Terre, MO, he grew up several miles south in Flat River, Missouri, now incorporated into Park Hills. He died on Saturday, January 9, 2021, at 71 years of age.
In 1978, Roger and Connie, nee Meyer, married. Both were teachers and moved to the local area in 2008 after moving here from Springfield, MO. Though raised as a Baptist, he later became a Lutheran, which explains why he was a member of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Kimberling City, MO.
According to his Christian beliefs, the service will point us to the body’s resurrection and life everlasting. Pastor Richard Futrell will be officiating. His burial will be in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield, MO.
