At an early age, the creative world of art began to capture Joyce Hutchinson. As she grew older, Joyce began to live out her fascination with nature in her work. Even now, you can see this love of nature in her passion for portraying colorful florals.
Yet, as she grew in her abilities, Joyce felt the need to diversify and even further develop as an artist (see her painting of Luther’s Rose to the left).
You will now find that she includes compositions of all types and media in her portraits. She enjoys using oil paints, acrylic, watercolors, colored pencil, and graphite. Her latest delving into historic, contemplative Christian art for Shepherd of the Hills is simply a continuing of her growth as an artist.
Joyce will be here on Sunday, August 19th, with her husband Scott, to deliver her art. They are also Lutherans, members of Zion Lutheran Church in Mascoutah, Illinois. When you see them, take a few moments to make them feel welcome. Also, thank Joyce for putting in more than 200 hours of work to make our two paintings a reality from her first pencil sketches to paintings with gold and copper leafing.
