On November 20th, 2011, after our Divine Service, we had a groundbreaking ceremony for our new multipurpose building. Pr. Jeff Sippy, from Redeemer Lutheran in Springfield, was here to help participate in the festivities (wearing the stole). Our pastor, Rich Futrell (wearing the chasuble) is following the groundbreaking ceremony from the Lutheran Agenda and our our congregational president, Richard Meyer, is breaking ground with the golden shovel.
Although a bit delayed, it looks as if our building will start going up after the first or the year, 2012.
The sepia photo below is of Sheri Futrell, our Thrivent representative. She is presenting a matching-funds cheque to Jude Gillihan of our building committee to help with the cost of the elevator in our new building.
