Winter Weather Advisory in effect from midnight tonight to noon CST Sunday… The National Weather Service in Springfield has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for a light wintry mix of freezing drizzle…light sleet…and light snow…which is in effect from midnight tonight to noon CST Sunday.
Timing…a light wintry mix will begin to develop across the Missouri Ozarks between midnight and 3 am Sunday morning. This light wintry mix will expand and move eastward across the area through Sunday morning. Freezing drizzle…light sleet…and light snow will be possible.
Main impact…roads will become slick quickly after the light precipitation occurs.
Other impacts…even a light accumulation will cause hazardous travel conditions. Check Road conditions before you travel late tonight and Sunday morning. If the Road looks wet and the temperature is below freezing…it might be icy. A light glaze of ice will be possible on exposed objects and roadways. A dusting of light sleet will be possible. A dusting of light snow to up to an inch possible across the far Eastern Ozarks will be possible. Precautionary/preparedness actions… A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of light snow…sleet…or freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibilities…and use caution while driving.
